The Virginia duo are back with their first album in 15 years. Pharrell provides the production for all 13 tracks, and provides some of his best work. The album was recorded in Paris, at a studio inside of Louis Vuitton, and you can really hear that. The beats are lush while still being very aggressive and grimy.

The first 5 tracks are incredibly good, and some of the best rapping done this year. Notably, on "Chains & Whips", both Clipse and guest Kendrick Lamar are in top form. Particularly Kendrick, as he may or may not have recorded this verse either during his very public battle with Drake, or while recording his own album, "GNX". "P.O.V." finds Tyler, The Creator sounding like he's been waiting to rap alongside Malice (which he has, as he's been a fan of the duo for years). Probably one of his best verses. Pusha T said they only had the best rappers featured on this album, and he was right.

Pharrell's additions besides his production aren't that good. Vocally, he wasn't in top form. I would've preferred if he rapped instead of the autotune singing. "F.I.C.O." features a chorus from Stove God Cooks. A verse from him would've hit, but the chorus is great. "Let God Sort Em Out/Chandelier" is one of the shorter songs, but punches hard. The production is fantastic, and the Nas verse is great. This is a solid album that doesn't have a bad track. Personally, there isn't a skip on it, though it's not perfect. This year has been a let down as far as rap music goes, and I can see this taking the top slot for a ton of hip-hop heads.
